769 Indi Fantasy - Acrylic ink portrait painting on watercolour paper

Here we go on crap watercolour paper again! The subject is a famous Indian actress, probably Bollywood, but I don't know her name. She looks nice though.

This time I was going to create a portrait using purple as an underpainting. Oh well, not quite. Well nothing like it actually.

Once I had the basic sketch drawn up I changed my mind again and used more neutral colours for the skin colour and the hair. From there I painted the eyes and mouth. Then it was a case of "what next"? I still wanted purple though... After painting her clothing blue, I used green for the shadow outlining her face. I then started painting purple all over the place.

I have no idea why I used all those colours, because the reference photo sure didn't suggest anything. It was a black and white photograph from a newspaper! Ah – go figure!

The result? Well I like it, because I am biased. I am one of those weird people who likes most of their paintings and drawings. I don't dwell on the faults.
