I am about to have another run of paintings on coloured posterboard. For a long time I kept my art in coloured folders. At least one folder for each year. Then I had so many that I decided to just keep them in boxes in numerical order. So, instead of putting the coloured card in the recycle bin, I recycled it myself. Each folder made two A3 sized boards. I considered cutting them in half and then figured that it would take me forever to use it up. I am already getting tired of it, but an end is in sight.
This painting is of an Australian singer. I decided to do a blue portrait on a blue background. As usual I started with a basic, light pencil sketch. I then lightly airbrushed the shading on the face and hair. I used a paintbrush to paint her eyes, lips and hair. I brushed on white highlights in the pupils of her eyes and her bottom lip. Other light areas are the background colour and overspray.
This one was a quickie. I didn't spend a lot of time on it.
