Again I used Arches Cagrain as a base for this drawing. It was very nice to draw and shade on thanks to a slightly rough grain. For a long time I only drew on printer paper which is pretty thin. The result on this paper was much more satisfying.
I try not to overwork my drawings. I find that if I try and cover every square centimetre it ends up as looking overworked, and usually in my case, messy. So I try and keep the original background colour for the highlights and just concentrate on the dark and mid to light shadows only.
The picture came out quite well considering the reference photo was just a paparazzo shot from the cover of a trashy magazine, taken from quite a distance away too. My drawing is fairly true to the image, but I think maybe the photographic reference may have been distorted. No matter to me, as I am happy with this result.
