763 Magda Szubanski - Acrylic ink portrait painting on watercolour paper

Another one in the run of A3 watercolour paper celebrity portraits. This time the colouring for the skin tones is yellow, orange and red (which turns up as pink).

Basically the same as the last two portraits. Pencil drawing with transparent acrylic ink airbrushed over the top. Once again I used a fine paintbrush for details and highlights.

The aim with these three portraits, Harry, Anthony and Magda, was to keep it very simple with the skin tones. I wanted the result of a colour portrait that looks like it has been painted. I like looking at photo realistic airbrushing, but I will never be able to do it. I don't have that kind of patience. Every time I have started a painting with the intention of making it photo-realistic my brain goes haywire and tells me to put some colour on it. So I do!

Let's face it. I love coloured paint, ink and pencils, and I have a great time integrating them into my paintings. I guess, "that's my style".
